Please take some time to read these two articles (1 and 2). Then I want to talk to you about DMSO, thanks to A MIDWESTERN DOCTOR blog (3).
1. Sinwar. Just Read This.
“….He was a child of the camps, born into captivity in the Gazan Khan Younis refugee camp, the son of Palestinian citizens of Majdal 'Asqalan (present-day Ashkelon) who were forcibly driven from their homes by Israeli forces in 1948 in what is referred to as the Nakba, or catastrophe…..”
Scott Ritter has a lot of rough edges. He is a retired Marine, retired UN Weapons inspector, and is one of the most knowledgeable, passionate, and articulate writers about international affairs that I have so far come across.
2. Eisenstein at his Best.
Did you think my last post, I LOVE THE PALESTINIANS, was childish or naïve? I fear that you did. Charles seems to be somebody on the same page as me.
3. DMSO WORKS!
Bless you, A MIDWESTERN DOCTOR.
DMSO.
Works.
(Maybe you already knew this.)
My knees do not hurt today.
My lateral hips do not hurt today.
My back hurts a little but not much.
Nothing like a week ago.
DMSO.
Conned for many years by pharma "wisdom," I failed to listen to tales of near miraculous joint relief that have been circulating just under the surface of popular media for almost 60 years now. What a dufus I was.
I even passed by the first A MIDWESTERN DOCTOR article on DMSO a few weeks ago. Then he published another one. And another.
I read it, got some roll-on DMSO, and poof! 90% of arthritis pain is gone.
I’ve been using it for a week, now. It still works.
It was a little burn-y for a few minutes when I put it on my skin over the worst joints, but no rash. Five to 15 minutes later-- no pain in those joints.
What I did not know is how many important conditions DMSO helps.
Sorry you have to wade through all the gory animal testing stories-- you can skip those. Just read down the list of all the things that DMSO is helpful for.
AWMD, whoever he is, is one of the most meticulous medical researchers I have encountered. I believe him when he says (and cites voluminous evidence) —when he says it is safe. My mind is boggled when he claims DMSO is good for so many things, any of them serious and life-threatening. For many of these things, you can just take your handy bottle of DMSO and rub it on your skin — over the clogged artery! over the joint! Or you can drink a little bit (I am still working up to trying this.)
And since DMSO is SAFE, and since these other conditions are LIFE-THREATENING, what’s the risk?
You know, if we were not so deeply sunk into materialism and the need to prove everything we can see in front of our face, and if the negative propaganda had not been so strong, well, we just would have started using DMSO for many things. And we would all be healthier and happier. So would those thousands of poor lab animals who died for out sins.
I understand why science has to be so rigorous. There are a LOT of charlatans out there. Unfortunately, some of them work for Big Pharma, thus destroying a lot of the value of the scientific method.
"God grant me the serenity...."
Medical independence. Maybe you think I am falsely euphoric about this and maybe I am.
But.... read through the list of things that DMSO is good for.
Unless you are allergic to DMSO, (This is an important point—)
per AMWD, DMSO is incredibly safe.
Cheap.
Forgive my euphoria ( I have suffered for such a long time.) I must say that MSM has gone a long way to help also. MSM is a metabolic product in the same "family" as DMSO. Also cheap and available without prescription. I will take both.
A cautionary note. Garlic odor is mentioned in the AMWD article. He states that odor seems to be more of a problem in less healthy people and with less pure solutions of DMSO. (This is why I am so far putting off taking it orally— see cautionary story, below, near the end of this post.)
Second cautionary note: DMSO freezes at 65 degrees. I threw away the first bottle of roll-on DMSO after only three days, thinking it was empty because nothing came out on the roller ball. Oops. Now I think, in these chilly mornings, it just solidified in the bottom of the container. Same thing happened this morning. I stuck the bottle in some warm water in the sink for a few minutes, and it worked fine.
And of course, DMSO works or does not work, affects different people in different ways. All medicines are like that.
Discussed in Part Two (link above.)
Here is Part 3:
AMWD: "In short, if DMSO were to become the standard of care due to its remarkably high success rate in treating a variety of common conditions, it would completely change the practice of medicine in the United States and likely knock many existing approaches out of business."
AMWD: "If I were stranded on a desert island or knew the world was ending and I could only bring a few therapies with me, one of them, without a doubt, would be DMSO. This is because:
•It treats a wide range of severe illnesses which are often otherwise incurable and frequently fatal or lead to a lifetime of permanent disability.
•It effectively treats acute injuries and rehabilitates chronic musculoskeletal disorders (e.g., arthritis). Because of this, it’s one of the best “pain medicines” out there and has allowed many to get their lives back.
•It has a variety of unique properties that open up a completely different dimension to how medicine can be practiced.
•It is one of the safest medically active substances in existence."
Bullet points.
As I said, AMWD is a pretty meticulous researcher, and as a result, his articles tend to be excruciatingly long. I hardly make it all the way through any of them. (I did make it all the way through these, though.)
For those who might want to know this stuff but balk a the long reads, here are the bullet points from each article. If you have a particular problem or interest, you can follow the bullet points and skim down to the part in each article where he discusses your interest.
Bullet points from article 1: "Story at a Glance:
•DMSO is a remarkably safe chemical that protects cells from otherwise fatal stressors (e.g., freezing, burning, shockwaves, ischemia). Since the heart, brain, and spinal cord are particularly vulnerable to injury, DMSO can produce miraculous results for those conditions.
•The usage of DMSO completely transforms the management of strokes (including brain bleeds), heart attacks, and spinal cord injuries. As I will show here, had the FDA not sabotaged DMSO’s adoption, in addition to countless lives being saved, millions could have been protected from a lifetime of disability or paralysis.
•DMSO has many other remarkable properties. For example, it stabilizes proteins, and thus treats many challenging protein disorders (e.g., amyloidosis and numerous genetic disorders).
•Many conditions DMSO treats are typically considered to be incurable. In this article, I will focus on DMSO’s remarkable utility for the conditions that respond best to intravenous DMSO (e.g., a variety of circulatory disorders like varicose veins or Raynaud’s) and complex neurological disorders (e.g., Down Syndrome, Developmental Delay, ALS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s), along with how to administer IV DMSO and DMSO stroke protocols."
Bullet points from article 2:
•The standard approach for treating pain and musculoskeletal injuries typically involves giving NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), and in more severe cases, opioids. Unfortunately, these drugs are extremely dangerous (e.g., each one kills tens of thousands of people each year), but nonetheless have remained the standard of care for decades.
•DMSO is a remarkably effective pain-killing agent, in many cases allowing individuals who’d been disabled for years by their pain (e.g., a failed spine surgery or severe arthritis—DMSO’s most popular use) to get their lives back. Furthermore, it can treat many types of pain other therapies do not work on (e.g., complex regional pain syndrome).
•DMSO is a highly effective therapy for healing wounds and creating healthy scars, making it particularly helpful for recovering from surgery.
•DMSO is incredibly effective for healing a wide range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries (e.g., arthritis, headaches, neck and back strains, restless leg syndrome, sprained ankles, trigeminal neuralgia and numerous traumatic injuries). It typically has an 80-90% success rate and often has an instant and dramatic effect. This use was particularly popular with professional athletes, as it allowed many of them to quickly return to the field rather than be out for the rest of the season.
•In this article, I will review the scientific literature that explains how DMSO provides pain relief and healing, the vast body of evidence (comprising of thousands of patients) showing it indeed does, and our preferred DMSO home treatment protocols for pain, arthritis, and musculoskeletal injury (along with the best sources for procuring DMSO)."
Article 3
recaps earlier points and features people’s stories.
Some interesting reviews of DMSO that I found on Amazon.com.
1.
A customer note from AMAZON: "Some words of wisdom from an old retired organic chemist. Throughout my adult life, I have always had a bottle of DMSO nearby and readily available for use. The best storage area is an upper cabinet in your kitchen. This keeps it at a temperature where it will never crystalize/solidify. Note: If it does solidify, it will not harm the DMSO, but it would be bothersome if you needed to quickly pour some out.
My major use for DMSO at home is for blunt force trauma. Fancy term for hitting your fingers with a hammer, or dropping some heavy object on your foot, etc. Rapid application of DMSO in these situations will quickly stop the pain, stop the swelling, and prevent or minimize a “black and blue” response. I soak a clean cotton cloth, gauze or cotton ball in the DMSO swab the injured area for about 5 minutes, continually adding more DMSO to the cloth and skin area.
Now, an important bit of information, DMSO, especially in high purity has an extreme affinity for water; add a small amount of DMSO to a small glass, and add a little water, then feel the rapid release of heat. Therefore, if you apply the pure DMSO for 5 minutes to an injury as I mentioned above, it will pull so much water from your skin, your skin will end up feeling like hard dried leather; even more pronounced on older people. Solution: Dilute this high purity DMSO with 15% water, and then store that mixture in a glass stoppered bottle. At this dilution, you will not affect its efficacy in any way, yet it will save your skin from grief.
Now some general comments. DMSO is extremely safe chemical, however, within seconds of application to your skin, it will enter your blood stream. Therefore, anything dissolved in the DMSO will also enter the blood. So, apply only to clean skin, devoid of lotions, nail polish, etc.
Next, the ultra-pure DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) removes any trace of the impurity, dimethyl sulfide. Trace amounts of this impurity will not hurt you, but it is the source of the often-reported foul taste and smell of lower purity DMSO.
Finally, there are many claims about the use of DMSO for arthritis, and other growing pains I myself have not experienced success with this use. Indeed, I have never seen any success with DMSO on any type of chronic pain.
Another great use for DMSO is to treat frostbite, this use has great evidence for efficacy, but because this is a rare event and because most people are unaware of it’s potential, it is seldom utilized.
Please allow me to tell two DMSO anecdotes.
First story: A laboratory co-worker was washing his car at his house, and his 3-year daughter was having fun helping dad, and getting wet. He then accidently closed the car door on her hand. He was devastated, and she was screaming. He quickly ran and grabbed a bowl, and a bottle of DMSO, and immersed her little hand totally into the bowl of DMSO. He himself was shocked when she quickly stopped screaming. Now if he was treating his own hand, you might consider some type of psychosomatic effect. However, a 3-year-old would have no idea that this clear liquid would stop her pain. We might consider this a “blind clinical” experiment.
Second story: An old blind family dog was upset when I was cutting his front nails, and gave my hand the worst dog bite and pain that I have ever experienced. My wife grabbed a metal mixing bowl, and I put my hand in the bowl, and tried to slow down the bleeding with compression, and she then poured large quantities of DMSO over my hand; the severe pain quickly stopped. We then dressed the wound, and about 8 hours later I was finally convinced by my family to go and get a tetanus shot at the local Urgent Care. The doctor looked at my hand, could see that it was a dog bite, but was totally amazed and confused, because there was no swelling or black and blue at all. I told him DMSO; I really think he was still confused."
2.
Another lady on AMAZON listed some of the musculoskeletal uses for DMSO. AMWD discusses many more, including neurologic (strokes!) and cardiac.. But here is her list (saves me lots of typing): "
What is DMSO used for?

and more."
3. The Cautionary note story:
Garlic odor is mentioned in the AMWD article. He states that odor seems to be more of a problem in less healthy people and with less pure solutions of DMSO. Again, from AMAZON site: "4.0 out of 5 stars Odorless!, until you take it, especially internally!

Bought this to try because of my plantar fasciitis that just would not quit. Was using a roller bottle, then foot bath soak. With frequent use I started to notice a little odor, no big deal. However, when I started taking 1/2 tsp with juice 2 or 3 X's per day:
1) my foot got sooo much better! Could work my nursing shift & realized I wasn't limping, yeah! Co-workers started saying: what's that smell? I had no idea what they were talking about.
Then I visited my grandkids!!! Gramma: you smell like throw up!, as they grabbed their own stomachs & turned away I was mortified.
In the car heading for dinner, Miss 6 starts with: I can't breathe. (Windows get opened despite snowsquall.)
Then she says: my heart stopped beating. (Dead serious!). Honey, you are talking to me, so your
is beating. Seriously, Mom, my heart stopped beating. Sigh.
Who else but kids will really tell it like it is?!?!
The quandry: have found something not harmful to the body that has stopped the pain, but I stink too much to be around, BUT DID NOT EVEN KNOW IT!
PLAN: return to topical use, do an occasional oral dose to try to find the minimum amount to keep pain free."
